B.A., B.Ed.Psychometrist

Before starting a new career at the psychology practice of Dr. Deb Fitzpatrick, Sandra worked in the field of education for many years. By formal training, she is a teacher with additional specialist certification in special education and reading. She has work as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, enrichment teacher, speech and language resource teacher, and educational diagnostician within school boards.Sandra has also worked as an educational consultant and an assessment trainer.

Her role at Dr. Deb Fitzpatrick and Associates has been as a psychometrist, administering tests for children and adolescents with learning problems, or suspected learning disorders or giftedness. A psychometrist serves a similar role as a lab technician does for a physician. A psychometrist administers the tests, and then the Psychologist scores, interprets and generates opinions, diagnoses (if there are any) and makes recommendations.

Outside of her work life, she enjoys activities such as spending time with family, traveling, playing tennis, and walking.
